Fishing for Salmon and Trout
Some of the very best fresh water fishing areas in NZ include the Mackenzie Country and the Waitaki River Valley. This is the home and base of several fishing guides who specialist in Trout fishing in our braided rivers or you can try for the big Trout and Salmon in the Twizel canals.
Lake Benmore is a very productive trout and salmon fishery as are all the lakes in our area.
